New AEG Thyro-Family Power Controller Series Member

AEG Power Solutions, a global leader in end-to-end power supply systems and solutions, announced the completion of the product portfolio of the Thyro-Family series, the latest generation of its Power Controller systems. For more than four decades customers around the world appreciate the quality, reliability, reproducibility and accuracy that come along with AEG Power Controllers; the Thyro-Family finally is the sum of AEG’s decades of experiences. In addition, it is the approved premium support and the long-term experience that makes AEG Power Solutions to be their first choice.

The Thyro-Family, which is in fact a full digital SCR based power controller series, offers currents from 16 up to 2.900A and supports voltages of 230 up to 690V. Designed to supply single-phase, 2-leg-3-phase economy and 3-leg-3-phase circuits, Thyro units offer operation modes of TAKT (full- and half-wave) and VAR (phase angle mode). Within the family, the Thyro-S series serve the low-end segment with thyristor switch devices whereas the Thyro-A series in the mid-range segment offers power controllers with advanced features and high currents. The premium segment is served by the Thyro-P series which is able to supply all kinds of loads with highest currents and accuracy.

The main idea behind the “family” is of course patency that allows customers to select a device that fits each of their applications or requirements whether for single or multiple power controller configurations. A wide range of available communication protocols furthermore points out the ability to communicate among each other and to higher-level control-systems.

AEG Power controllers are used in industrial applications for example, to supply power to machinery, manufacturing equipment, support systems such as heating and air conditioning, etc. They control electrical power, current or voltage with high precision and reproducibility.
