The cornerstone of what is HORN Glass Industries AG today was laid over 100 years ago, when August Horn founded a small glass service industry in the hamlet of Plößberg, Germany. From its modest beginnings as a furnace constructor, HORN became a meaningful supplier of turn-key glass melting furnaces and technology.

Today HORN is placed amongst the Top 500 of Europe´s Job creating companies by the Europe Award and emplys about 160 people.

The heart of the HORN Glass Industries AG is the engineering of glass melting furnaces for the glass industry. Numerous national as well as international companies have placed their entire plant engineering in the hands of HORN. Plant planning and design are done on the most modern CAD stations and executed using equally modern construction methods. This has lead to HORN being the "innovation factory". Furthermore the whole peripheral equipment around the furnace is supplied. Reliability and durability are the chief criteria for all equipment whether wholly or partly manufactured in house. Individual consultation in terms of the selection, adaptation and application of technically and economically sound solutions are HORN´s speciality. The company is also able to tailor entire plant packages that include products outside of the standard range so that HORN is, so to speak, your one-stop-shop.

The objective of this service centre is to offer the customer the highest level of technical service and support.
25.05.2011	HORN researches forehearth firing One of these practical research studies was carried out directly in HORN´s workshop. The effects of different burner types on the thermal homogeneity of glass and the heating efficiency as well as the adverse effect of the flames on the refractory material were tested on a forehearth model.
10.12.2010	Печь с подковообразным направлением Фирма HORN подписала с ООО «Омский стекольный завод» договор на строительство второй печи с подковообразным пламенем для производства зеленого и коричневого стекла. Производительность новой печи расчитана на 465 т/сутки. Печь имеет четыре канала питателя, один из которых спланирован как «тандем».
