Messe Düsseldorf Launches New Glass Trade Fair in India

As the organizer of the leading international trade fair for the worldwide glass industry (glasstec) held every two years in Düsseldorf, Germany, Messe Düsseldorf also offers the glass sector additional presentation platforms in key international markets such as China and India. Starting next year, there will be a change in the company’s activities in India: Messe Düsseldorf and its subsidiary Messe Düsseldorf India will jointly stage the new trade fair GLASSPEX India from December 2 – 4, 2009 in New Delhi. The event will be supported by the Indian Glass Industry Association, the All India Glass Manufacturers’ Federation (AIGMF) and the German Engineering Federation (VDMA). The 8th International Glass Technology Conference organized by AIGMF will be held concurrently with GLASSPEX India 2009. The Conference will be directed at representatives from industry and politics and will cover current developments and trends in the glass industry, present market opportunities and provide information about technical aspects.

GLASSPEX India 2009 will offer the Indian glass industry a comprehensive overview of the latest glass products, developments and trends in glass manufacturing, finishing and applications. India is one of the world’s fastest growing economies. The population growth and higher standard of living are particularly boosting the construction and automotive sector, while the demand for consumer goods is also rising.

GLASSPEX India will be held every two years, alternating with glasstec in Düsseldorf. The Indian glass industry will benefit from the expertise, competence and experience that Messe Düsseldorf has built up over decades by organizing glasstec. “GLASSPEX India aspires to be the best glass trade fair on the Indian market.
