The key to a great pasta dish is in the sauce... and in the jar!

Proof that glass continues to consolidate its position as the packaging material of choice for those products that wish to project a Premium image is the new Hunt’s pasta sauce container launched in the Mexican market.

We’re talking about a new 404 ml. glass jar manufactured by Vitro and jointly developed with Conagra Foods, one of the largest and most important food companies in the world.

“This product focuses on satisfying the needs of a modern middle and upper income housewife who is seeking nourishing foods of good quality and flavor yet time efficient”, tells us Gabriel González, Head of Marketing for Vitro’s Food and Beer market segments.

He adds that the client evaluated several packaging alternatives for this project before making a final decision.

“After analyzing together with our Market Intelligence Department the packaging trends and profiles of pasta sauces it was concluded that the purity, quality and Premium image that glass offers was the perfect answer to the consumer needs for the targeted market segment”, he explains.

Ana Portales, Marketing Manager for Conagra Foods refers to the importance of launching this product presentation into the market for Hunt’s pasta sauces.

“We are the market leaders in pasta sauces, where glass containers dominate with 60% of the market; nevertheless, up to now we didn’t use glass containers so this product launch now consolidates our leadership position in México”, she assures us.

She acknowledges that the development process was greatly enhanced thanks to Vitro’s design specialists who were able to present diverse sketches until we settled on a final design, as well as the opportunity to visualize the concepts with acrylic prototypes.

“This project is a high stake for our company in México and at a global level, due to the quality of work done from its conception to the end product. We are very confident that it will be a great success”, she concludes.
