Vitro Cristalglass presents its new brand TEMPLEX®

• Under this new brand name the company begins to commercialize its range of template and thermo hardened products.

Vitro Cristalglass, Vitro’s affiliate in Spain, announces the launch of its new brand TEMPLEX® for the commercialization of its range of new products of tempered glass and thermo hardened glass (TEMPLEX® HS).

The TEMPLEX® brand defines a kind of construction glass that has a shatter resistance factor 7 times harder than conventional glass obtained through a special process of uniform superheating to more than 700 degrees Celsius and followed by a cooling shock finish on its surface.

During 2006 Vitro Cristalglass fired up the special furnace for tempering and thermo hardening of glass, which happens to be the largest of its kind in Spain, and is now capable of producing the larger format of 6000 x 3210 mm for the construction industry. The products will now be identified by the brand name TEMPLEX® and will be sold throughout the Iberian Peninsula and beyond.

The characteristics of the TEMPLEX® glass are:

• Greater resistance to thermal shock
• Greater resistance to compression forces
• Greater resistance to flexing forces
• Greater resistance to torque forces
• Greater resistance against impact

Vitro Cristalglass is part of Vitro’s Flat Glass business unit and is the industry leader in the manufacture, distribution and marketing of specialty glass for the construction industry in Spain, Portugal and France.
Vitro Cristalglass is comprised of 12 business centers:

• In Spain: six manufacturing facilities are located in: Camponaraya (Leon), La Rozada (Leon), Fuenlabrada (Madrid), Porceyo (Gijón), Náquera (Valencia) y Cerceda (Galicia); two distribution facilities are located in La Coruña and Barcelona plus a metallurgical shop in Gijón.
• In Portugal: one facility for glass manufacturing is located in Chaves and a distribution center located in Lisbon.
• In France: one facility for glass transformation is located north of Paris.
