Storia

Carl von Linde invented the method of separating air into its components in 1902. The first air separation unit went into operation in Höllriegelskreuth near Munich just one year later. Today Linde serves over half a million customers globally via a dense network of production and marketing sites. Approximately 8,000 committed employees generate sales of more than DM 2.7 billion. As the European Union starts to take shape and Eastern Europe opens up, the implications for the European industrial gases market are enormous: The customer structure is heterogeneous and requires an effective market presence and the systematic implementation of strategies: Think global - act local. There is a need for inter-market expertise: Our response is to provide regional flexibility through decentralized units which are coordinated from Munich for all countries. It pays to get involved early: This is why we are leaders in Eastern Europe. The second-largest gas producer in Europe In the USA, Far East and Australia, Linde can be found in cooperation with gas firms under the name of the national company in that country More than half of our sales are generated outside Germany - and most of our staff are employed abroad as well.
