Glasswerks, a full-service fabricator of architectural glass headquartered in South Gate, Calif., announced it has acquired the glass manufacturing assets of Columbia Commercial Building Products (CCBP) in Rockwall, Texas, and J.E. Berkowitz (JEB) in Pedricktown, N.J. Both companies were previously part of Consolidated Glass Holdings.
“This acquisition marks the latest investment as Glasswerks solidifies its national presence,” reads the announcement. Through this purchase Glasswerks has added multiple tempering lines, insulating glass (IGU) lines, a laminated line, and substantial supporting assets to its current production. Continued expansion and investments have effectively made Glasswerks one of the largest privately-owned custom glass fabricators west of the Mississippi.”
Glasswerks currently operates in more than 700,000 square feet of fabrication space across locations in Southgate, Temecula, and Carson, Calif. This latest acquisition substantially adds to the company’s capacities, distribution, and overall foothold in the glass and glazing industry, according to the announcement.
“Strategic acquisitions allow us to continue to expand and improve our capacities and capabilities,” says Randy Steinberg, president, Glasswerks. “The marketplace’s expectations and demands continue to grow and we intend to keep pace.”
