According to the general director of Sibstekl Anton Mor, since 2015 the volume of glass container production has more than doubled - from 320 million to 643.3 million pieces by the end of 2020. The plant operates 7 lines for the production of a lightweight bottle, the weight of which has already been reduced to 258 g (while maintaining the standard dimensions). 30% of products are supplied to customers filling drinks in Novosibirsk. Economic efficiency indicators are growing, and after that, tax deductions - 1.3 times over the last year (up to 304.8 million rubles).
With the commissioning of a new heavy-duty glass melting furnace, the productivity of glass complexes has increased by 30%. According to forecasts, in 2021, 760 million units of container glass will come off the conveyors, in 2022 - 850 million. As a result, the company's need for glass waste (cullet) is increasing.
Recall that the melting point of cullet is lower than a mixture of natural materials (sand, dolomite soda, etc.). Using it for the manufacture of glass containers, "Sibsteklo" reduces energy consumption, as a result, and CO2 emissions. In addition, the rate of accumulation of useful waste fractions at MSW landfills is slowing down.
“In fact, Sibsteklo is the largest recycler of glass waste in Siberia: we can use up to 200 thousand cullet per year, thus, its share in the composition of raw materials will change from the classic 30% to 80%,” says Anton Mor. - In this case, glass waste must be cleaned of foreign inclusions, crushed, dust-free, etc. By 2023, we will gradually launch a technological complex for processing cullet, including optical glass separators.
According to Anton Mohr, 55 thousand tons of glass containers are thrown out in Novosibirsk and the region annually, and no more than 20% is returned to the economic turnover.
- When transporting MSW to landfills in a stream of mixed waste, which is compressed under strong pressure in modern garbage composter trucks, the glass is crushed into fragments, then they cannot be removed, - states the general director. - And therefore it should not end up in landfills, for which it is necessary to develop the infrastructure for handling MSW.
One of the key issues discussed during the working meeting with the participation of Anatoly Lokt, Head of the Department of Industry, Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the Novosibirsk Mayor's Office Vitaly Vitukhin and Head of the Central District Administration for Zheleznodorozhny, Zayeltsovsky and Central Districts of Novosibirsk, Sergei Kanunnikov, was the formation of a glass waste collection system on the territory of Novosibirsk. According to Anatoly Lokot, the city is interested in its creation, especially, according to expert opinions, Novosibirsk residents are ready to join the process of sorting MSW. Taking this into account, the mayor's office will consider the possibility of forming a working group to prepare specific measures, as well as determine the formats of cooperation with Sibstekl. The company already supports the improvement of the Sosnovy Bor park, carried out by the mayor's office and the Green Standard Fund for Nature Protection and Environmental Protection.
