Traditionally, the glass industry has been evolving at a rather slow pace. However, for the past few years, thanks to digitization and growing stakeholder expectations, the glass industry has also been on the path of change, welcoming this renewal process with increasing interest and curiosity.
In 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic certainly had a significant impact on the world’s economy. Nevertheless, the Vetropack Group did not put aside its expansionist goals. In 2020, it purchased a glass factory in Chişinău, Moldova, to continue its expansion into Eastern European markets and went on to build a new plant in Italy, in Boffalora sopra Ticino (Mi), to consolidate its presence in this market, which has always been considered strategic.
As of 2023, this new industrial plant will replace the one in Trezzano sul Naviglio (Mi) and is destined to become the Group's flagship, both in terms of innovation and sustainability.
