Vetropack Group considers glass manufacturing facility closure

Vetropack Group is considering the closure of its Swiss production site in St-Prex.

It said for several years, the long-established and historical site has had difficulties in terms of location and profitability. It has started a consultation on its future.

Analysis by the glassmaker to evaluate the possibility of maintaining operations there found that the competitiveness and development prospects of the site are negative – and could even result in its closure this year. 

Vetropack’s Board of Directors said they will only make its decision once the legally required consultation procedure has been completed
