The Glass Manufacturing Industry Council (GMIC) is a Glass Industry trade association that includes among its members, representatives of all four sectors: Flat, Container, Fiber and Specialty.

GMIC, incorporated in September of 1998, is moving forward on a broad front to promote the interests and growth of the glass industry as a whole. We collaborate with other national and international glass industry associations to ensure our industry continues to operate in a sustainable, energy efficient and environmentally responsible manner and to increase its value to global society by producing new and improved products that contribute to reducing the production of greenhouse gases.

We coordinate and support research projects among our members to develop new melting technologies, stronger glass and alternative fuels to reduce our dependence on natural gas from declining sources.
