Storia
The History of Nadir Figueiredo Ind. e Com. S/A mixes up with the history of industrialization of Brazil itself. It starts with a modest electrical servicing and sales shop run by a pioneer enterprise of brothers Nadir and Morvan Dias de Figueiredo. Right after, the modest enterprise turns out to a small industry of lighting apparatus and decoration adornment and adding up to this activity the import and commercialization of glass, ceramics and porcelain that would determinate the future of the company with the acquisition, in 1933, of its first glassware plant. Since them, Nadir has been growing stronger roots in its field: through the purchase (in 1943) of the first ceramic plant that was stablished in the country at the city of Pedreira in the state of São Paulo and, afterwards, with the construction in 1945 of its automatic plant at Vila Maria (São Paulo), the building up of the current Nadir-Rio in 1958, and finally with Louvidro (São Paulo) in 1974.
