Şişecam presents high-performance solar glass at Solar Istanbul

At the fair Şişecam presented its solar glass products, providing maximum efficiency in solar panels and featuring high light transmittance

Şişecam attended Solar Istanbul, held at Viaport Marina, and presented the latest developments in energy storage, e-mobility, and digitalization to fair attendees. Şişecam met with the industry’s leading companies and representatives at the well-attended event. Visitors expressed great interest in Şişecam’s high-performance products, including Şişecam Glass for Photovoltaics and Şişecam Glass for Solar Thermal Collector which provide maximum efficiency by high light transmittance.

Şişecam Glass for Photovoltaics and Şişecam Glass for Solar Thermal Collector directly affect the efficiency of solar panels with their high light transmittance performance. In addition, the glass protects the internal parts of solar panels, which generate electricity from solar energy, against environmental conditions.

Produced in the “Sandy” and “Prism” patterns, Şişecam Glass for Photovoltaics and Şişecam Glass for Solar Thermal Collector reduce the reflection on the glass surface with its patterned structure. As a result, the specially developed glass achieves maximum efficiency in the performance of solar panels and collectors with their high light transmittance and low reflection values.

With the application of Anti-Reflective (AR) coating on glass surfaces, the reflection of light is minimized, while the light transmittance of glass is increased by approximately 2 percent, in this way increasing the performance and the efficiency of solar panels.
