Know your toughened glass...

The toughened glass is a type of safety glass, which is produced in such a way that firstly, the common annealed glass is cut into the required size sheets in the ultra-thin or ultra-large sheet full automatic line, then heated to about 700*C to generate compressive stress on its surface, and finally its surface is evenly quenched to result in a secondary crystallization.

It can be divided into two types depending on the degree of heat treatment: heat-strengthened glass and fully tempered glass. The level of breakage of the heat-strengthened glass from the outside impact is similar to that of annealed flat glass but the strength coefficient is twice higher. Fully tempered glass has an impact strength which is 5 times higher than that of the same thickness.
